Its Tet, the Lunar new year in Vietnam, somewhat better known as Chinese New Year. The streets of Hanoi are full of flowers and christmas lights and happy new year signs. We have spent the last few days walking the streets and visiting with some friends who are living here. There are some amazing art galleries around this neighborhood and I was able to buy a beautiful painting to bring home.
We visited Ho Chi Min's Mausoleum today and learned a little about Vietnamese culture. It was definately a somber place.
Had some amazing Pho for dinner tonight. Later we will celebrate the new year by watching firworks from the roof of our hotel with the staff that can't be home with their families this holiday.
Tomorrow we fly back out, another 20 something hours on a plane.
I can't wait to be back in my own bed with my down comforter :)
