Whew! Flew from LAX to Taipei Taiwan and then to Phom Penh. Actually slept a bit on the plane. I think it was almost 20 hours travel time. Landed at 10 this morning and am loving it already! 85 degrees and sunny, palm trees everywhere. We had breakfast with the local church leaders and the Medical Teams International team members on the ground. We had ginger chicken for lunch, it was delicious! Also got to try a local Khmer favorite, boiled duck fetus.... yes, yes I did.
Walked around the streets near the hotel and took in the scenery.
The drivers here are crazy, dodging the motos and the bicycles, its kind of like driving in NYC, (except in NYC there are at least some rules) everyone kind of goes with the flow of the minute and tries not to hit anyone.
Going to relax and try to recover from the jetlag for the rest of the day and tommorow clinic orientation and a visit to tuol sleng prison.
Cheers,
Evangel
